А новый посулил большую удачу. Дело в том, что Тупак сумел пройти прослушивание и был принят в очень популярную группу Digital Underground. Участие в ней позволило ему сделать первые шаги к тому, чтоб стать тем 2Pac, которого мы все знаем.

В 1991 году 2Pac выпускает свой первый сольный альбом «2Pacalypse Now». И это был настоящий прорыв в хип-хопе. Появился молодой МС, который говорил именно о том, что хотели услышать люди. В его текстах раскрывались социальные проблемы, доставалось политикам и, естественно, полиции. Песни Trapped и Brenda’s Got A Baby стали хитами и позволили говорить о 2Pac как о новой звезде. В 1992 году он получает награду American Music Awards как лучший новый рэп – исполнитель за второй сольник Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. Thug Life в 1994 и Me Against The World в 1995 только упрочивают его позиции как одного из главных действующих лиц на хип-хоп сцене. Последний прижизненный All Eyez On Me провозглашает: 2Pac – рэппер №1.
